This 2 Days Bujumbura City Tour is a traditional safari for guests who may be on a tight schedule but yet like to explore the attractions of Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. After breaking up for a local lunch, your safari will take you to the Stanley Monument and the City Museum, where you can view animals that are protected for educational purposes. Later in the afternoon, you will go to the Rusizi National Park for a boat ride where you can relax and enjoy the sunset while sipping an ice-cold beer on the shores of Lake Tanganyika.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Bujumbura City
Upon your arrival in Bujumbura, you will be received by our company representative who will brief you about the 2 day tour and take you to a hotel already booked for you. Depending on your arrival time, you will go on a brief tour of Bujumbura City. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Bujumbura.

Day 2: Bujumbura City Tour – Rusizi National Park Tour
After breakfast in the morning at your hotel, our guide will come and take you to the city museum, where you can visit the animals at the zoo that serves as an educational hub for Burundian citizens and students, one of the ways that the country’s citizens are being taught about conservation. Following your journey back to Bujumbura for lunch, you will next go to the historic spot where Livingstone and Stanley spent the night. There, you will learn about the history of explorers in Burundi.
After lunch, travel to Rusizi National Park to have a boat ride on the Rusizi Delta, where you may view birds and hippopotamuses and take in the stunning scenery of the river and Lake Tanganyika. Following your exciting day of exploration, our guide will drive you to one of the greatest beach restaurants in Lake Tanganyika, where you may sip on a refreshing beverage while taking in the sunset. Later return to Bujumbura and proceed to the airport to catch up with your outbound flight back home.
