Day 1: Fly to Samburu National Park

Take a scheduled flight from Wilson Airport to Samburu in northern Kenya. A lodge representative will greet you at the bush airstrip and accompany you to your safari lodge within the Samburu National Reserve. I’ll be your host for the next three nights. Enjoy stunning views of the animals, including herds of elephants and creatures acclimated to the desert, including Beisa oryx and gerenuk.

Day 2 – 3: Explore Samburu National Park

Over the next few days, during your Samburu safari, discover Kenya’s wild north and spot Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. Apart from game drives, walking is one of the best ways to discover Africa. Take a native Samburu warrior on guided walks to see some of the many bird species in the area. With over 450 different species of birds recorded, it is a bird lover’s paradise. Together with imparting knowledge on the numerous uses of the plants, the guides will show you how to keep an eye on the animals. While you’re here, you may also take a tour of a Samburu hamlet to see firsthand how the colourful Samburu people have adapted to this fascinating and dry area.

Day 4: Travel to Masai Mara National Park

You will be taken to the airfield in time for your planned flight to the world-famous Masai Mara this morning after breakfast and a game drive. Upon your arrival at the airport, a lodge representative will meet you and transport you to your Masai Mara safari lodge, which is located in the middle of a private reserve. After getting dressed and having lunch, explore the expansive grasslands of the Masai Mara, which are well-known for their abundance of predators as well as the zebra and wildebeest migration.

Day 5 – 6: Interact with the Maasai Warriors

Experience the grandeur of the African savannahs while taking a game drive and seeing multitudes of animals and their predators. The Masai Mara is home to one of Africa’s largest concentrations of lions as well as cheetahs and leopards. The game drives will be led by knowledgeable guides who will ensure that your safari experience in Kenya is one you won’t soon forget. To spot those rare midnight critters, take a nighttime drive around the reserve. Savour a dinner outside under the expansive African sky while admiring the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.
