Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Samburu National Park
Start your safari from Nairobi’s hotel or airport, where our driver/guide will collect you and send you on your Wilson Airport early-morning flight to Samburu. (If your flight is after 11:00 a.m., we suggest staying the night in Nairobi the day before your safari). Throughout your voyage, you will be given to stunning vistas of Mount Kenya, the Aberdares Forest, and the Laikipia Plains. After a 1.5-hour flight, you will land at Oyrx Airstrip, where our ground driver will take you to Sasaab Lodge for the next three nights. After lunch and refreshments, you will embark on a two-hour wildlife drive via Samburu National Park or the conservancy.

Day 2: Game Drive in Samburu National Park
Rise early and head out for a 4-hour game drive through the Samburu Reserve and conservancy. We’ll provide breakfast in the bush during this time. The beautiful daybreak and surrounds will make your day happy and peaceful. In order to search for the numerous bird species, the big five mammals of the reserve and conservancy, and other wildlife encounters, we will proceed on a four-hour game drive. Later that afternoon, head back to the resort for lunch and some relaxation before the evening’s events get underway. We’ll take a camel stroll that evening to witness the best wildlife sightings in the region.

Day 3: Samburu Cultural Expedition
After breakfast, depart the camp at eight in the morning to take a brief game drive through the reserve. Proceed to a nearby village or school to gain further insight into Samburu customs and culture. Return to the resort for some relaxation after lunch. Later that evening, you will embark on a guided bush walk within the reserve to search for notable overlooks, short climbs, and spectacular sunsets.

Day 4: Fly Back to Nairobi
It’s the last day in Sasaab and the Samburu Region. After a wonderful stay jam-packed with activities, you’ll take a jet back to Nairobi. You will check out early in the afternoon following a filling breakfast, and you will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or the airport in time for your flight home.
